Job description

The Senior Decision Making team evaluate and assess information received in the initial stages of our fitness to practise investigations to make sound decisions. They make Threshold decisions to decide if cases should be referred to our Investigating Committee.  They also decide when completed investigations are ready for referral to an Investigating Committee Panel (ICP).

 

This role will involve a combination of making these casework decisions as well as managing the Senior Decision Makers in the team.

 

In addition to this work, the post-holder will be responsible for providing guidance and case direction to case management teams, to support the delivery of high quality and effective decision-making in our investigations.

 

The successful candidate will have significant experience of autonomous decision-making (preferably in a legal or regulatory environment), including demonstrable ability and understanding of applying legislation, guidance, or policies, and making evidenced based decisions.

 

This role will be best suited for an effective leader who is able to support and motivate the team to continue to deliver high quality, timely decisions.
