Job description

The mission of the Insight & Analytics Team is to generate evidence to support policy and decision making by applying statistical methods to HCPC data. This new fixed term role is critical to the further development of reproducible analytical pipelines that improve the efficiency of production and ease of dissemination of statistical analyses of HCPC data. This role will also be responsible for developing the team’s capability and capacity for greater public dissemination of analyses via its website.

 

Candidate Requirements

The Insight & Analytics Teams approach sees the HCPC registrant data as a population, or collection of profession specific populations, with describable characteristics and within which events happen. The successful candidate therefore would have demonstrable experience of conducting the types of statistical analyses commonly used to describe and assess populations, risks and events in health care, public health, epidemiology, or other relevant settings. They will also need demonstrable experience of using web apps such as Shiny to enable sustainable dissemination approaches for large volumes of information. 

 

Some of the key responsibilities include:

 

  • Working with the Head of I&A to develop processes that increase the production efficiency of existing and new analytical reports.
  • Project managing and acting  as the statistician for new statistical reports as directed by the Head of Insight & Analytics.
  • Scoping, project managing and acting as the statistician for new statistical reports as requested by other parts of HCPC.
  • Training/produce training documents for Insight & Analytics staff in the new production and dissemination methods that are introduced.
