Join the HCPC's Infrastructure Team as a pivotal figure in transforming and maintaining our IT infrastructure with a modern platform approach. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring that our services are robust, scalable, and agile. By implementing streamlined processes and leveraging the latest technologies, you will play a crucial part in guiding the organization towards a platform-centric IT model.

 

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities

General:

  • Act as the technical authority in supporting HCPC's transition towards platform-centric IT solutions.[JR1]
  • Support DevOps practices while working closely with developers to support and implement low-code solutions. While this role is not a development position, a strong understanding of low-code platforms and their integration within development workflows is highly valued.
  • Take full ownership of systems assigned, ensuring they are kept up to date, supported, secured, and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Liaise effectively with departments such as Procurement, Finance, and Business Change to complete administrative tasks related to system maintenance, support renewals, licensing and compliance.
  • Ensure non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, scalability, resilience, monitoring, security, maintainability) are clearly defined, documented, and met for all technical changes and implementations across the organisation.
  • Collaborate proactively with the Solutions Architect or 3rd party Vendors to drive forward all technical deliverables, ensuring clarity, alignment with architectural standards, and timely completion.
  • Serve as the in-house expert on networking, databases, storage, and cloud platforms.
  • Coordinate with external vendors to resolve complex incidents and problems as needed.
  • Attend backlog prioritization and planning meetings, contributing technical insights and best practice recommendations.
  • Maintain clear and regular updates on task tracking platforms (minimum once per week unless otherwise agreed).
  • Monitor alerting systems, taking proactive ownership to avoid service impacts and identify security incidents.
  • Communicate any potential delays on high-priority tasks along with proposed mitigation plans.
