Job description

We are currently looking for two skilled, highly motivated individuals to join our Hearings team as Hearings Assistants.

 

Purpose and Main Duties

The Hearings Assistant role will involve coordinating and assisting with preparation and follow up tasks related to fitness to practise hearings. This will include the facilitation of Investigating Committee Panel (ICP) hearings, proofreading and quality control of Tribunal decisions, as well as providing administrative support to colleagues within the Tribunal Service, wider Fitness to Practise department and external stakeholders.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as first point of contact for all parties at Investigating Committee Panel hearings, and providing administrative support and guidance to panel members.

  • Assisting with the provision of special measures or reasonable adjustments and other logistical elements required for hearings.

  • Collaborating with colleagues across the HCPC and Tribunal Service to ensure the successful delivery of hearings. Being proactive in liaising with the Investigating Committee Manager, Hearings Team Managers, Scheduling Officers, Case Support and Admin team and colleagues in case management.

  • Utilising a wide range of communication tools, including telephone, email and letters, to provide a high standard of customer care to all HCPC internal and external customers.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for candidates with strong interpersonal skills and adept at providing excellent customer service. The successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to handle and prioritise competing administrative tasks in a fast paced working environment. Proactiveness and attention to detail are crucial in this role. It is essential for the successful candidates to have experience in providing support to stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds, and demonstrate great problem-solving abilities.
