Job description

We are seeking an experienced HSEQ (Health and Safety, Environment and Quality) Manager to join our Office Services Management team. In this role, you will develop, manage and deliver related aspects of the department and organisational Health and Safety, Environment, and Quality systems whilst also managing the Reception team and front-of-house services, enhancing the overall service and compliance of the department. The HCPC is located in Kennington, this role will be predominantly office-based.

 

Purpose and Main Duties

Your main responsibilities will consist of, but not be limited to performing audits and inspections, setting up operating procedures and systems, generating reports and statistics, conducting presentations and training and giving guidance and advice to management, employees, subcontractors and suppliers. Moreover, this role will supervise and mentor the Reception team to fulfil the needs of this position.

  • Developing, managing and delivering the HSEQ Management System(s) complying with ISO standards and accreditations.
  • Conducting regular HSEQ site inspections and audits and collaborating with the department management and organisation to execute required actions.
  • Developing and coordinating annual and long-term HSEQ action plans and reporting progress to Senior Management.
  • Work closely with interested parties as we continually strive to improve environmental performance across the organisation.
  • Ensuring the organisation adheres to all related legal, statutory and regulatory requirements for managing Health and Safety and Environmental Information.
  • Investigating and reporting on incidents, dangerous occurrences, ill health and near misses.
  • Developing and delivering training programmes related to health and safety and the environment and facilitating all forms of risk assessment.
  • Monitoring the office’s “permit-to-work” system and the effectiveness of policies and procedures.
  • Managing, leading, motivating and developing the Reception Team to support the service and compliance functions and provide a high quality, secure, professional customer service experience and Front of House function.

 

Candidate Requirements

 

To be considered for this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree or qualification(s) in a relevant field, such as engineering, environmental science, or occupational health and safety.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in managing and delivering HSEQ systems and projects in a similar organisation or industry.
  • A certification or accreditation in one or more of the following ISO standards: 9001, 45001,41001,14001 and 14064.
  • A thorough knowledge of the legal, statutory and regulatory requirements for managing Health and Safety and Environmental Information.
  • A proven ability to conduct audits and inspections, generate reports and statistics, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to provide guidance and advice to various stakeholders.
  • A proficiency in using Microsoft and industry related software applications, to record, manage and demonstrate progress.
  • A personal commitment to health and safety, environmental and quality excellence and culture.
  • Leadership and management skills, and the ability to motivate and develop a team of reception staff.
  • A flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
