Job description

We are looking for a strategic and compassionate leader to head our Professional Liaison and Outreach Service. This department plays a vital role in how we proactively regulate and support professional practice across the UK. Established five years ago, the team works in partnership with employers, educators, and registrants to promote professionalism, ethical behaviour, and safe, high-quality care. With a presence in all four nations of the UK, the team delivers targeted interventions that influence professional practice and culture and enhance public protection. This role is central to shaping how we proactively regulate and influence professional practice across the UK. You will lead a team to design and deliver targeted, evidence-based interventions that promote professionalism, prevent harm, and support high-quality care. Working collaboratively across the organisation and with external stakeholders, you will ensure our outreach efforts are informed by behavioural science, data, and a deep understanding of professional environments.

Candidate Requirements

We are seeking a visionary leader with senior experience—ideally within a regulatory or public service context—who can shape how we influence professional practice across the UK. You will be confident leading multi-disciplinary teams and designing impactful, evidence-based interventions that drive cultural and behavioural change. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insight into action. You will be comfortable engaging at senior levels, including with Boards and external partners, and committed to promoting professionalism, public protection, and inclusive leadership. The role requires flexibility and a willingness to travel across the UK.

This is a dynamic, outward-facing function role. Alongside our excellent employee benefits, we are committed to your ongoing learning and development to build your skills, experience, and career. You can find out more about our benefits on our website
