Job description

Are you an experienced Allied Health Professional looking for an opportunity to shape best practice and to expand your strategic thinking and innovation skills?

We are looking for a leader for our new programme for scope of practice optimisation for advanced practice AHPs. The role sits in the HCPC’s Policy and Standards team, and the successful candidate will be providing specialist advice while acting as a link between regulatory principles and clinical experience. Our work will focus on the development of learning materials and delivery of webinars for our registrants.

This is a great opportunity to join an organisation focused on protecting the public through effective regulation and a well-established culture of continuous quality improvement.

You may never have thought about putting your expertise to use in this way, but you would be making a lasting impact. By supporting best practice for your fellow AHPs, you will help ensure more service users get the safe and effective care they need.

 Purpose and Main Duties

  • Lead on the development of guidance for advanced practice AHPs focusing on scope of practice and delegation.
  • Design and deliver engaging, evidence based, learning events and materials that educate, influence and empower different stakeholders to promote professionalism and help to embed Standards and prevent harm.
  • Establish and maintain effective and mutually beneficial relationships with a range of external stakeholders.
  • To actively contribute to Policy and Standards Department communications work, internally and externally, working with the Communications Department where appropriate.

Candidate Requirements

You will be an experienced Allied Health Professional who holds registration with the HCPC or the GoSC. You will have a passion for learning and a proven ability to deliver trainings, seminars, workshops or similar events to colleagues. You will be able to help develop written materials to a high standard and which achieve our stated learning aims. An understanding of professional regulation would also be an advantage.

You will need to show a collaborative and organised approach to work, ability to develop analysis and arguments based on evidence, and to have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

We are committed to building equality, diversity and inclusion, and will expect you to demonstrate relevant understanding and commitment. Alongside our excellent employee benefits, we are committed to your ongoing learning and development to build your skills, experience, and career. You can find out more about our benefits on our website.

You would be based at our offices in Kennington, South London. We are happy to discuss home working arrangements – at present we expect a minimum attendance in the office of one day per working week, but this may be subject to change.

This role is for fixed term of 9 months and is open to applicants seeking a secondment.

Closing Date: Wednesday 21st May 2025

Interview Date: W/C 2nd June 2025
