Job description
We are looking for a professional, customer-focused Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our organisation, on a 3-month fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy front-of-house environment and enjoys delivering an exceptional service to visitors, colleagues, stakeholders and building users. As Receptionist, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our reception services, maintaining a secure and welcoming environment, managing enquiries, supporting administrative processes and contributing to excellent customer service standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide a friendly and professional front-of-house service, welcoming visitors and guests.
- Manage visitor sign-in procedures and issue security passes.
- Answer and direct telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries efficiently.
- Maintain reception, meeting rooms and front-of-house areas to a high standard.
- Support building security, including monitoring access and reporting concerns.
- Assist with mail, courier services, room bookings and other office administration tasks.
- Raise purchase orders, manage supplies and support departmental reporting.
- Respond professionally to customer queries and complaints, escalating where appropriate.
- Support health and safety procedures, including fire evacuation processes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, suppliers and building users to ensure an excellent service.
We're looking for candidates who can demonstrate the ability to:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a professional, approachable manner.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong customer service focus and attention to detail.
- Experience handling challenging situations or difficult customers professionally.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and other office systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively while using initiative and sound judgement.
